We all strive to live a happy and meaningful life and yet challenges often get in our way. I provide a safe and respectful space for you to explore your difficult thoughts or feelings. Whether it’s stress, anxiety, sadness, or difficulties making decisions about work or relationships, I help you identify what’s important and teach you skills to meet your goals. Life is hard and we all benefit from support at times in moving forward with greater clarity and confidence. Learning to respond more flexibly to difficult thoughts and feelings will ease their hold on you. I work with you to take the next steps toward the life you want.

I have experience working with adults navigating life’s transitions, particularly those associated with the workforce. I have a special interest in working with clients on the struggles associated with work, stress, burnout, anxiety, and interpersonal conflict.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I completed a Bachelor of Health Science from Western University and a Master of Education in Educational Counselling from the University of Ottawa.

I incorporate techniques from several evidence-based approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. If needed, I can administer the Strong Interest Inventory.

My practice is supervised by Dr. Julie Beaulac, Registered Clinical Health Rehab Psychologist. Dr. Beaulac provides supervision and guidance so you receive the best care. I am currently conducting all appointments virtually through a secure online platform on Thursday evenings. Please email kevinchavespsychotherapy@gmail.com or call 613-800-8770 to book an appointment or for more information.
